Canada Health Infoway has already supported a national AI scribe program. The program provided eligible primary care clinicians with funded access to approved AI scribe tools for one year. The initiative shows that there is strong interest among health care professionals and that the technology is moving beyond small pilot projects.
The growing demand could create opportunities for Canadian technology companies. Local firms could develop AI systems designed around Canada’s health care needs and rules. If these products prove successful at home, they could also have the potential to enter international markets.
